Highlight of the Week
The Just Between Friend sale every spring & fall has quickly become one of the highlights of my year! And if that statement alone doesn’t officially land me in the “crazy Mama” category, I don’t know what will! Seriously though, my Mom & I both consign items, and then get to go shopping early the next day & we have so much fun! Last fall, I bought Braelynn’s big Christmas and birthday gifts at the sale, along with barely used shoes and clothes! This year has been no exception! We dropped all of our items off on Wednesday and then got to shop on Thursday before they open the sale up to the public & we had such a great time! I bought more than I was planning – but with good excuse as I picked up several brand new items for gifts for other people (other than Braelynn) & picked up a carseat in perfect condition for Braelynn’s birthday when she can stop sitting rear-facing!
Yes, This Happened
- Braelynn came down with hand/foot/mouth virus this week – yuck. It’s been a full week for us – Tuesday night we were awake more than we were asleep, but she wasn’t acting sick or have any symptoms other than just not sleeping! Then Wednesday afternoon she was pretty cranky (but chalked it up to being exhausted), came down with a low-grade fever & started drooling a bit, so we figured it was probably a tooth coming in. Wednesday night the fever got worse & even though she slept most of the night, she was burning up all night. The fever seemed to break Thursday morning & she went back to being her normal self (just with the crazy drool). Thursday afternoon was when we realized, she was drooling because she wasn’t swallowing and when she was swallowing, she’d wince. Off to MedExpress we went & they confirmed: hand/foot/mouth. Thankfully, we seem to now be on the mend (see below)
- BEE UPDATE: I think the 3rd visit from the exterminator was a charm! We’ve still had a few bees this week: probably about 12 dead ones & 1 very much alive one! But, that number is way down from last week! And every day we see less & less! I think we can close the chapter on this one!
Feeling Blessed
It is literally the worst to see your baby sick & suffering. It literally breaks your heart! I’d do anything I could to take the sickness & pain away. It just makes me so so thankful for the happy, healthy little girl she typically is. She truly doesn’t get sick very often at all and I am so thankful for that! It’s so wonderful after several rough days to feel like we’re getting her back: the happy, chatty, playful, silly, loving little girl that she is. I am so thankful!
