- OUR DINING ROOM IS DONE (well, mostly)!
*cue all of the happy tears*
I’m honestly not quire sure how to process all of this, but I am CURRENTLY sitting in my brand new office nook (no longer in my laundry room!)
Let’s back up a bit – as of last weekend, our dining room was ready for paint. We were away last week (more on that in a minute), so we didn’t get started with the paint until Monday evening.
On Monday, we got everything primed.
By Wednesday, we had the walls painted.
By Friday, we had the trim painted (and touch-ups done)
This morning, Derrick installed all of the baseboards (they still need a few finishing nails, but they’re installed enough).
And by this afternoon we had moved the china cupboard (which we call the Mexican cupboard) back in, re-organized it, AND I moved my office in!!
It’s still obviously a work in progress as we adjust things and make them what we want, but it simply feels delightful to no longer have my dining room in my living room!!
There are no words for how I feel.
This project has taken longer than we ever anticipated and it’s turned out way different than we anticipated! We never intended to move my office space – but the opportunity presented itself and we took it! - Last weekend, we drove up to visit Derrick’s parents and to see Cameron for her birthday! Braelynn was so excited to spend her best friend (and cousin’s) birthday with her – they literally spent the entire day together on Saturday – playing together at Nana & Papa’s house to a big birthday party at a jump park that evening!
Did the kids like the jump park? Leander was SUPER hesitant to try it at first, but as he warmed up, he fell in love. Everyone had so much fun! And not a day has gone by since last Saturday that he hasn’t asked to go to the jump park again.
It was a “big” weekend though (outside of Cameron’s birthday) because it was the last weekend we’d spend at Derrick’s parents before their house gets packed up and moved across the country! It isn’t the last time we’ll see them before their big move, but it was the last time we’d be at their house with it “normal”. It was a bit emotional to say the least. - Tuesday was my favorite day of the week – the day my friend Tiffany and I gather the creative entrepreneurs of this area together and hang out! It’s a chance to get out of our houses and away from our computer screens, to brainstorm ideas together, to encourage one another, and to mastermind together! It’s always the most wonderful time and I look forward to it every month!
- On Wednesday, Braelynn woke up saying that she had a sore throat. She ended up spending the day on the couch and it turning into a full-blown cold and cough.
Sadly, Leander fell to the germs last night (he was up about every hour because his nose was stuffed up and he couldn’t breathe – it was a long night.)
So, needless to say, we’ve all been laying low and “vitamin-ing” up (and Mama’s been drinking extra coffee because my kids sleep HORRIBLY when they’re sick). - I started posting my favorite images this past week! I always start with my favorite roller coaster images, and then proceed into favorite portraits. This week I’ll post my favorite engagement and elopement and wedding images! Stay tuned!
