So, I realized this week that I want to add a few more words to my weekly Saturday posts – move over Abby! This Abbey wants to write little things about her week!
D&K adventures: We’ve kept Lowe’s in business this week – we finally decided to make the investment in a new back door. Our old back door was, well, awful. It had about an inch gap at the bottom where the cold air just blew in. For the last 3 winters, we’ve stuffed a towel under the door to “seal” it and well, that simply wasn’t going to cut it anymore. So, on Monday, we picked out a new door. Then, on Tuesday, we woke up, Derrick took a shower & told me that he “ran out of hot water” and I should probably wait a while before taking a shower myself. I thought it was a little strange – that’s never happened before. I waited as long as I could – and still no hot water. Turns out – our hot water tank had decided to quit. So, another trip to Lowe’s – a new hot water tank. Awesome. Super thankful for Derrick’s Dad who installed it for us! The bad news was: now our kitchen sink wouldn’t work?! You guessed it – another trip to Lowe’s! I think I’m boycotting that place for the next few months!
Abby’s antics: She did something she’s never done before: jumped on me while I was laying on the couch watching Netflix! Like, imagine a kitten pouncing on it’s favorite toy. She planted her paws on my chest & licked me till I couldn’t breathe – or left me laughing till I couldn’t breathe – not sure which came first.
Radiating thankfulness: We both were able to take Monday off of work – it was the last beautiful glorious fall day & we spent the afternoon hiking through the woods with our pup. We had a wonderful relaxing day – it was fabulous.
What we’re up to today: It’s the first weekend in – I literally cannot remember how long – that we don’t have anything planned! No photoshoots, no meetings, no plans! Heavenly!! I absolutely love my busy busy life – but having a weekend of absolutely nothing every once in a while is incredible! We are celebrating by sleeping in [thus the Abby photo, she’s still in bed – lil stinker!] and having waffles for brunch!
..credit where credit is due: this idea is not completely my own – one of my favorite photographers: Melissa Jill – does a similar post every Friday. And after reading hers for 92 weeks, I’m here to jump on the bandwagon! I’m not copy & pasting her format, but the concept is similar.
