Every year since 2021, we have spent a full week in glorious, sunny Florida.
And 2025 was no exception.
Every year, we tweak our week in Florida, we make micro-adjustments depending on what we – as a family – are looking to get out of our time away. This is one of the things that Derrick is SO good at! He is not only incredible at planning our trips, but also orchestrating them to be precisely what we need. In other words, even though we’ve made this trek down to Florida for the last several years in a row, each time is different – and I swear, it just gets better and better.
Our time in Florida kicked off with a quick stop in West Virginia (for Derrick to visit one of the plants he manages), then we made our way down to Six Flags Over Georgia, before finally arriving Florida for a week of fun!
The highest of highlights from the trip were stopping at Rainbow Springs State Park – which is where Derrick and I got engaged 16 years ago! We’ve never been back since, so specifically carving out time to visit and explore this beautiful park was so much fun!
Of course: going to Epic Universe was beyond INCREDIBLE – we still talk about our time spent there on a daily basis. We had so much fun and the entire day was so magical.
We spent a whole day (and a half) at St. Pete’s Beach on the west coast of Florida – and it’s officially ruined us for all other beaches. The water was clear and blue and WARM, the waves were small, we found HUNDREDS of beautiful seashells (and full sand dollars!), plus the hotel we stayed at provided chairs and cabanas for us – that day was pure magic.
And because – what’s a blog post without photos – here are just a few (these are a mix of iPhone snaps & photos taken with my “big” camera).
