2024 Florida Highlights | The Adventuring Abbeys Family Vlog

We have spent a week in Florida every year for the last several years – so of course, 2024 was no different!
Except, 2024 was VASTLY different because we made the decision to go in the FALL instead of the SPRING!
And while being in Florida the week of Labor Day was fantastic (low crowds, off-peak pricing), the daily thunderstorms that rolled in every single day sure put a damper on our days. Don’t get me wrong: it rains in the spring too – but in our experience: it would simply RAIN in the spring – in the fall, it THUNDERSTORMED every day.

We rolled with it though and had an amazing time away.

We kicked off our vacation with a little “pre-vacation” – Derrick had to visit one of the branches he supervises and he was able to work it into our drive down. So, while he was working, we did a lot of swimming, found a really awesome park, visited an art museum, and did more swimming!

Once we made it to Florida, we spent the week at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Disney Springs Area Hotel – it was amazing and we loved it (I did a full, in-depth review of that hotel HERE!)

On our way home, we spent two nights at the Embassy Suites by Hilton St Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort – again, AMAZING. This resort blew our socks off – we loved it so much!

I create vlogs for each of the individual days we spend at the different amusement parks we visit – and those films are precious to me. They hold so many amazing memories. But these “week long” overview films? MAN – they just hit DIFFERENT.

After I created this film, pulling all of the highlights from our week in Florida back in September 2024, I went back and watched the same highlight films from our time in Florida in 2023, 2022, and 2021. GRACIOUS do they make my Mama-heart ache! My babies were so little! Their voices! Their mannerisms! The way they walk! They have grown up so much and I literally cannot imagine a world where I didn’t record and create these films. These are my most precious memories.
